Tynedale Goat Kid was established in 2011. The results of an initial trial of 10 goat kids proved there was a strong and emerging market for goat kid meat in the UK and Ireland. Tynedale Goat Kid has grown with the support of many leading Ulster chefs.

Ian & Ann Wilson and family now own the business run on the third generation family farm in the beautiful rolling countryside of County Down, convenient to both Lisburn and Belfast. As both Ian and Ann come from farming backgrounds they have a wealth of experience in the Beef, Sheep and Dairy sectors combined with strong business attributes they are excited about this new venture.

Tynedale Goat Kid is all about sustainable farming, male goat kids are unwanted by the local dairy goat industry, they are reared for 6 to 8 months and then sent to be processed.  Tynedale Goat Kid meat is produced to the highest standards of animal husbandry and traceability.

Goat kid meat is the Observer Food Monthly’s Number One food trend for 2015 and with 2016 being Northern Ireland’s Year of Food it is a very exciting time for Tynedale Goat Kid.

Ian & Ann have exciting plans for the business and are delighted that founders William & Sarah Haire have given their full support to these plans and look forward to the business growing from strength to strength.
